Overview of Hotels in Hermosa Beach
Places to Stay in Hermosa Beach
Below are the hotels (and hostels) in Hermosa, ranked by location, hotel quality, and affordability:
- Grandview Inn: This hotel is in the best location, just north of the pier, within a block of the beach and strand. It’s also right next to an amazing Mexican restaurant, a surfboard rental shop, and the park. Also, many of the rooms have ocean views. This is hands down the most affordable option for what you get.
- Sea Sprite Hotel: This hotel is actually a motel. It is recently renovated and is right on the strand with direct views of the ocean and the best sunsets. It’s just south of the pier.
- Beach House Hotel: If you have a little extra cushion in your budget, this is the place to stay. It is just north of the pier and on the strand. It is slightly more expensive at around $400/night, but if you have the money to spend, it’s definitely worth the price.
- H2O Hermosa: This is the newest hotel in Hermosa and has a beachy, modern vibe. Like the Beach House, it’s also a little more expensive (typically costing just below $400/night). However, it’s also farther back from the ocean. I would recommend staying here if being oceanfront isn’t on the top of your list. While this hotel is not oceanfront, it’s still only within 2 blocks of the pier and a great option.
- Hotel Hermosa: This is a great budget-friendly option if being a block from the beach is not a top priority from you. Hotel Hermosa is a 5-minute drive from the beach and since its a bit higher in elevation, it offers some great views.
- Surf City Hostel: If you are looking for the cheapest possible way to stay somewhere in Hermosa Beach, Surf City Hostel is your best bet. It’s a nice hostel right on the pier next to the bars, with both dorm (shared) rooms and private rooms. This will easily cost you less than $50/night.
- Holiday Inn Express & Suites Hermosa Beach: If all else fails, the Holiday Inn is waiting for you. This is on the PCH on the very south end of Hermosa and is within driving distance to the beach. However, it is one of the cheaper hotel options.
Most of Hermosa is made up of homes, with not many rental units. From time to time, I’ve seen some Airbnbs available but they technically aren’t allowed. Mostly, Airbnbs will appear in Redondo Beach, just south of Hermosa. Luckily, there are a few great hotel options right in the heart of Hermosa!
