My 10 Travel Essentials
This travel essentials guide provides an overview of my 10 favorite things I bring along with me on my trips. These are the items I can’t travel without. Check out my list below to see details about what I bring with me each time I head out to explore somewhere new.

My 10 Essentials
As I prepare for a trip, I always check the weather to see what to pack for clothing (I usually aim to bring lots of layers so I can adjust to changing weather). Then, I start to collect the items I can’t leave without. These are the items that come with me on every trip:
1. Passport/driver’s license
Depending on if the trip is international or domestic, I will always have at least one of these.
2. Reusable water bottle
I always bring this to ensure I have a good amount of water on the plane and for the duration of my trip. Hydroflask water bottles are my go-to.
3. Backpack
My backpack helps me keep track of everything and keeps my hands free. I use this as my personal item while flying. I recommend an Osprey backpack.
4. Wireless headphones
I use these on the plane and at the airport. My go-to is Apple Airpods.
5. Cell Phone
I have this with me 99% of the time. This is my source of entertainment on the flight – whether it be music, movies, going through photos, or journaling whatever comes to mind in my notes.
6. Sunglasses
I have Warby Parker sunglasses and Rayban sunglasses. Both of these are polarized and great for exploring outside while protecting your eyes from the sun.
7. At least one sweatshirt/cardigan
I am usually cold at airports (and the majority of the time), so I bring a sweatshirt to wear on the plane. If I have room, I like to bring another one that I can squeeze into my personal item. I use this as a blanket if I get cold on the plane. I also use it as a pillow sometimes.
8. Comfortable walking shoes
I usually wear slip-on Vans or running shoes for the flight (it’s always good to be ready to run if you have a short layover).
9. My journal
I like having this to write about my experiences during trips.
10. A swimsuit
I know, not all places have a good swimming option, but I always like to be prepared just in case.
